Our Approach to Landscaping …
Serving Northern Virginia since 2007

Over 15 years ago when I first started in this business, I noticed I “didn't fit” in with the the rest of the industry … On one hand, there were the no frills “two guys & a pickup” companies, where you have no idea about the quality of the plant material, or how much they know about plants to begin with.... On the other hand you have the big red truck fleet where the plant material is of a higher caliber, but how can the average folks afford it???

The last thing I wanted to have was a huge and impersonal company installing cookie cutter landscapes for entire subdivisions, so I decided to specialize using elements of the two approaches. Superior plant knowledge & unique plant choices, the highest quality plant material available & minimal heavy equipment to minimize the carbon footprint... Which also means a lower operating cost and a net savings to you. Now add in the taste benefits of some fresh picked fruits and vegetables, and having a yard can mean more than just having to waste gas mowing the grass! Choosing my crew and me for your next project will not only ensure the highest quality workmanship for your hardscape and planting requirements, but it also shows you care more about the environment as well …

What is an “Edible Accent” ?

Here at my “farm” of a whopping 1/4 acre, I grow pretty much every fruit and vegetable that can be grown in the region. Believe it or not, kiwi grows great here, and a few less typical harvests have included figs, yellow carrots, sweet potatoes, persimmons, Asian pears, paw-paws, grapes, peanuts, soybeans and the baby corn used in stir fry.

I typically don't install a complete farm like mine, but just about everyone can find room for a small vegetable/herb garden, or a few blueberry bushes, or space for a few dwarf fruit trees. Container gardening for those with limited space is also possible. Since I have probably already grown it, you know you are getting advice on what will actually grow well in this area. If you can attach a greenhouse to your home, you can take advantage of the solar heat gain and cut your fuel bill in the process.
